What it means to be a Marie Curie Fellow!

When you hear about the Marie Curie “People” Framework, the first thing you should think of, is the European Commission and the amazing work they’re helping accomplish by allocating funds to several areas of research!

But most importantly, it’s a chance to work under some of the brightest minds in your field, have colleagues from all over the world, spread out all over Europe. Collaboration is the key point of such a project, to be able to travel, brainstorm together and work together towards a common goal. In some cases, even sharing your grievances, especially while doing a PhD. Anyone who has done one, will tell you they’ve had their “What was I thinking?” moments, and it’s comforting knowing that there are 9 of you, in the same boat, together!

Jokes aside, its the beginning of most of our careers, and I can think of no better way that could have happened. To be part of something so unique, means getting opportunities to interact with some of the foremost leaders in the industry, academia and fellow researchers, from all over the world. To be able to visit new places, to learn new things, and to get a chance to work with a group of extremely talented, multicultural and ambitious people!

As for the blog, I hope our little tit bits of information and facts on science and our experiences, will inspire you, entertain you and hope you will be fellow passengers in our exciting journey for the next 2 years!
